West End 5k. PR!

First 5K of the year & it's off to a great start.  First of all, I pulled my bib out of the envelope & Mike asked me what number I had.  I looked & said, 91.  Dodd pulls his out & says, I'm 91.  I just looked at mine upside down.  How funny is that?
I learned at the 10 mile drop that it's ok to start in the front (even tho I DID NOT start on the line this time, I was in the front pack (three rows back or so).  That's the place to be because I don't have to weave around people.  I took off at a blistering pace (for me) and kept it up for the most part.  7:14 at the first mile, 14:44 at the second, 22:41 at the finish!  PR!!!  I even beat my "pr" on the short Rabbit Run course.  Even timed it perfectly with my playlist.  Red Headed Woman started at 20:00 & took me to the finish.  Just like I dreamed it would (I had a kickin' song following because I really didn't think I'd break 23:00.  I'm pretty excited.

This is me trying not to slow down as I turn off my watch!  I turned the corner & saw the finish...and as I got closer, I realized the clock was reading 22:...  I was so PUMPED to see that.  Can't wait for the Red Bird Run in two weeks.

The final screen (way before the race ended as there were 284 runners overall.  Sad that I didn't take first in my age group.  A way (by a minute) faster old lady beat this fast old lady.  Hats off!  {she's 49...wow}

Look the same bib number! (couldn't believe he was willing to go upside down for the picture!)

Great day for a race.  A few raindrops on the windshield on the way in and as we were lining up...no rain while we were running.
Notes: first time to race not wearing a skirt (just a tad too cold for me)  First time not to wear pink on top.  & I'm not wearing pigtails.  And I PR'd.
I still will pig & skirt when the weather is warmer.
