I guess it's not REALLY the first Sunday of Summer as tomorrow I have to go to work and close up my classroom. But it's not a teaching day, so I can do as I please. I find I like to stay and organize and plan in my head for August. I'm also going to clean out my desk...a chore I never have time for during the school year. I love an organized desk and I love school supplies.
I say all of this...yet I know I'll be itching to leave the building as soon as I cover my shelves. What is it about the freedom of summer that makes us hurry though the jobs we should be doing...so we can go and do NOTHING? Nothing is rather appealing. Nothing means catching up on magazines and reading through all the stupidity that is Facebook and watching all the DVR'ed shows that no one but me wants to watch.
My summer plans:
- Cedar Point ~ my children have never been there
- Hiking at the metroparks
- READING in my hammock
- P90X
- running the 5K in the Pirate triathlon
- running
- Gardening
- Keeping my house clean
- getting organized and planning for make-my-own Christmas presents
- Mansfield penitentiary...
- Beading
- Keeping up with my blog ~ goal of which are to hone my writing skills and remember my life...
